2019/2020 I have worked as a Child Development Counselor in the Cecil County Public Schools since 1990. Prior to working in Cecil County I was a Special Education Teacher at the Mount Joy Vocational Technical School in Pennsylvania from 1981 - 1989. I currently have a Bachelors Degree in Special Education, and a Masters Degree in Counseling from Millersville University. I also have an Administrative I Certificate from McDaniel College.
My husbands name is Gary and he retired in Dec. 2019 from the parts department at Atlantic Tractor in Oxford PA. We have been married since December of 1989 and have been able to travel extensively thanks to the Agricultural Industry. Hawaii is one of my favorite places to visit. Sanibel Island is also a beautiful place to visit and is much closer than Hawaii. The island of Grenada was an interesting place to visit one of Kevins friends who was in medical school when we visited him.
My daughter Amy is a 2006 graduate of Perryville High School and is currently employed in the Human Resource dept. for a pharmaceutical company. My son Kevin graduated from Rising Sun High school in June 2009 and is currently employed with Woodcraft as a photographer/ videographer/woodworker. I also have a step-daughter and a step-son who live in Southern Ohio. My step-daughter is married and has two beautiful sons (our Grandsons), that we wish we could see more often. Evan is the oldest with Colton the youngest.
I enjoy being the Counselor at Conowingo very much and have met many great families during my time here. I also work as a Pet Sitter/House Watcher for many people in the area. I currently provide Pet Sitting services to friends and colleagues as well as take care of 2 dogs of my own. Tim was an abused rescue that my daughter found and he can be temperamental. So we recently rescued a puppy to be friends with Tim and her name is Lailani, pronounced(Lay-lonny). She is very sweet and they are both able to teach the other some tricks.
My plan is to retire at the end of this school year with a total of 36 years in the education field. I started as a Special Education teacher and moved on to my current position as a School Counselor.
